• Thanks to everyone who tuned in! That was so much fun!

    • Question about something Tim mentioned: He said it would be useful to practice thinking “[Some dominant chord] is the five of what key?.” So, “A7 is the five of D.” (I hope I understood that was what he was suggesting). My question is pretty simple. Is it just as good to count forward four, rather than practice thinking of the alphabet…Read More

      • The most useful way is to just memorize the 5 of every key. Then no counting is needed. Another way that will help is to be able to find the root of the V7 chord quickly by seeing it as an interval in the fingerboard. If your root is on the 5th string the 5th is in the same fret on the 6th string if your root is on the 6th string the 5th is 2…Read More

        • Yes, thank you. Very helpful. I have to laugh at myself because I’ve spent the last month learning interval shapes, so I did already know the *shape* of a 5th, but somehow the information got compartmentalized. I forgot that the answer to my question is sitting in my lap, and all I have to do is look at the fretboard as my “cheat sheet.”

    • Stuck in Spain so missed this one but lightbulbs going off on the diminished section, so much to unlock thanks

    • This is very nicely done Steve. Thanks for posting. I especially liked the feel and pacing from the bridge to the end. Seems like you really found your groove.

      • Thanks Tim. Lately I have been reviewing closed triads, so I am looking forward to the upcoming discussion on how to use them.

  • Hello everyone. I am Alexander from Solingen in Germany. I‘m 59 years old. I met Tim through the courses of TrueFire. Now I am looking forward to dealing with it more intensively.

  • Hello Tim,

congratulations! Great content and just of the right level, at least for me.

A couple of comments that I have tried to report in their relevant sections (but they have stayed there waiting to be moderated for a few days):

    – In the “Resources” section, the lists of 50 and 100 tunes seem to be just a list of tunes in alphabetic…Read More

    • Yeah, my list got out of control very soon I’ll post a “10 must know” a “ 25 should know” and a “50 important tunes that you might like to learn someday” . For those among us who love lists : )

    • Oh, and I’ll chase down the PDFs that I mentioned.
      Thanks for letting me know.

    • I believe in the video you’re talking about; Tim mentions a PDF, but it’s actually on the page as an image instead of a PDF. It made more sense as it was just a small image that you can now view on the page without having to open a second window.
