• Hi – Is the “Pick up where you left off” feature supposed to take you to the location in the last video where you stopped, or just to the beginning of the last video? That actual location would be a nice feature, but if that’s not the way it works, I will manage to survive. THANKS!

  • Just want to give a shoutout to Tim’s “Essentials” videos. I’ve been enjoying getting into the foundations of guitar and applying the knowledge to learning songs. Can’t wait to see new videos in that section. I’m also really grateful for Tim’s philosophy on guitar and music and how he contextualizes the role of musicianship in personal development.

  • I’m soon to be 69 years old, and have been playing guitar since shortly after the end of the Civil War. I began to gravitate towards playing fingerstyle since the mid-1970s, and have always incorporated using my fingers in my right-hand technique ever since. Lately, however (in the last few years or so ) I’ve been struggling with chipped and…Read More

    • I play with the flesh and only use my (highly polished) fingernails as a kind of backstop. You might consider slowly shortening your nails until they aren’t your primary plucking surface. Either way highly polished nails sound better and last longer.

      • That’s kind of my approach as well, but when you’ve got a hanging chad on the edge of the middle fingernail, it just throws everything off tonally and rhythmically. I have to to trim it back so that it no longer contacts the string at all, and the resulting tone is not what I’m looking for at all. I started using Bag Balm (you dairymen know how…Read More

  • Hi Tim, which of your lessons or products would be best for helping me build a jazz and blues vocabulary? Thanks!

    • If you are looking for vocabulary, you might look at the many jazz blues transcriptions on the blues page and the 1625 and 251 videos . Slow em down and get the ones you like in your ears and under your fingers.

  • Can anyone else get to the Dashboard page? Clicking on it takes me to the Login page. All the other links seem to be working.

    • Don – I am not having that problem.

    • Hi Don, I was having the same issue, but Luke was able to offer a solution which involved clearing the history on my browser, as it was probably saving an old version of the website.

    • Deleting history may not be enough. You might try deleting the browser’s “Cache”. Then do a hard restart.

      • Thanks David, I have delete the history links associated with the website as well as the cookies. Still no Dashboard.

        • Sorry, Bro. I do have some quirky stuff that happens occasionally, but nothing like that. Do you have another device (phone, tablet) that you can access this site? Does it do the same thing? When you log in, what page does it open to? Everything you need to access doesn’t really need the Dashboard. – Best of luck

          • I can get to the Dashboard page with another browser. At this point I’ll just have to do without the Dashboard. The rest of the pages I’ve tried appear to work and I don’t want to have to use two browsers.

    • Hi Don,

It could be your browser or something weird with its stored history.

To get around this, you can add /?nocache=1 to the url. Like this

      timsguitarworkshop.com/dashboard/?nocache=1

This will bypass your browser’s and servers stored version of the page, which it might not have stored properly, and load directly from our server.

      Let me…Read More

      • Thanks Luke, The nocache option works. Cleared out all my history links and cookies related to the site so it must have been something that Firefox buries somewhere else.
