Good morning everyone, I’m back from a week in Nashville and looking forward to our Q&A on Sunday. I had a blast in “Music City” was able to have wonderful time visiting and playing with Masters John Knowles and Andy Reiss, then off to play a concert and a workshop for 30 attendees at the Steve Krenz’s Fingerstyle Retreat then was whisked off to…Read More

Here’s a clunky unpolished version of this month’s tune in the only style I really know which is to sing a version and try and copy a solo. I need to buckle down and learn a lot more theory behind tunes but I think it’s good to document progress whilst it’s new. Anyone else woodshedding this one?

I understand where the modes come from, but always…Read More

Don’t get hung up on Modes. That will come into focus the more you learn about Harmonized scales. Check out this video from Tim. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBit9oTcMPU

Hey, folks! Good morning. It looks like our next song of the month may be Embraceable You. This is a tough song and quite a workout. I suggest you go into “Tim’s Transcriptions” and check it out ahead of time. The lesson on YouTube is from the Truefire Sensei sessions. It’s a great one. I look forward to a deep dive.
