    • Very nice arrangement, Ian. I liked the change of feel in the middle and then back to chord melody. To me the solo belongs where you stopped but others have much more experience than me in this area…..

  • Hi Tim (or anyone who wants to answer)? In a Youtube video you mentioned upgrading to Glendale Compensated Brass Saddles. There are several to choose from, is their a favorite you use?

  • How about a touch of Bach on guitar.

    • This is so great, it might be interesting to note that the highest guitar part is played on a short scale Guild and tuned up a fourth. George called it Guitar in F

  • For those who are local the Seattle area (or for those with a lot of extra frequent flyer miles) Pearl Django with special guest vocalist Connie Evingson are doing a 4 day run at Jazz Alley in Seattle Tonight thru Sunday.
    Maybe I’ll see you there!

  • Hope everyone’s well!

Been playing a little bit of catch-up, but the 7/19 Thematic Blues livestream replay is up! There’s a segment at about 42 minutes that’ll be transcribed and added to the Blues Lesson area in the coming days.

    • Since I’m new, I hadn’t looked at the lesson yet. It was short, but such a good exercise to remember. Blues jams can encourage such bad noodling…the thematic approach might be a solution.

      • It’s a great approach! It’s definitely helped me rein in my noodling and instead focus on taking a simple idea and building on it to create a more cohesive solo.
