Making Videos:
I’d like to get a handle on what you guys are using for your videos. I the past I’ve used my laptop camera with a mic-ed cabinet or direct. This was either using QuickTime or iMovie. I was never happy with the results.
I’m thinking about using my Focusrite 414 (digital interface) with my iPhone or iPad.

Hey Steve. Thanks. My question is less about the recording app and more about the the input to get it there. What is the signal path? Mics, Direct, Camera etc. for a live, unedited performance.
The camera on my laptop. I just click on “go Live” and it records the video. It’s not as good as when I had a good video camera on a tripod, but I don’t care, and it is easier. Thanks
Ken7 CommentsOk I have shot a video about using melodic minor in 4 ways including the “altered scale”. This video will be posted soon. There is also a nice video about melodic minor Harmony in the Jazz section it’s called Mastering ii V I Harmony (Melodic minor)
I see the chordal video, but I was looking for using the Altered and MM scale in Soloing, creating more outside lines over Jazz standards and Jazz blues. Thanks
My ultimate goal with all this jazz is to be able to jam with people and have fun while doing that. My improvisation skill is still very basic, but I’m trying to push myself.
So… I signed up for a jam. There were 5 pieces to play in. I consider one of them a relative success, the rest didn’t go too well. Quite a nerve wrecking experience, I…Read More4 CommentsI believe Tim mentioned in the Livestream that there are some on this YouTube, and there are PDFs on Ted Greene’s website that cover the topic. Here’s a video I could: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfeiELuKsGE
