I’d followed Dan a good few years and watched his star rise, your playing on this guitar finally tipped the scales for me to secure a spot in a growing line.. got it at the right time as books are closed now I believe. Five years in but carving is underway!

Quick question for anyone: In the Minor Harmony section of the Blues from the Ground Up lesson, Example 6 looks like it’s 13 bars long (14 counting the move back to Cm7). I’m guessing it’s because the transcription has 2 measures on the Bb7 due to Tim’s explanation. I *think* playing through you’d hold that VII7 for only 1 measure…Read More![Profile Photo]()

I’m super inspired by Tim’s relaxed grooves. I’ve been working hard on it for a short version of Carla Bley’s “Lawns,” which is such a gorgeous ballad.

Thank you, Tim! I really appreciate it. And yes to a short video — I’ll look forward to seeing it! One challenge for me with this song is that there’s not a single melody note on “1.” So it sort of forces deliberate counting.
