• Hi, loving the section on accompanying singers, is there a chance to add the Makin Whopee/Don’t get Around much anymore on to Soundslice?

    Thanks

  • I realize that you’ll have transcription PDFs available for soundslice portions of lessons. Could you also have musicxml or midi files also available for download?

    • Hi Lonnie,

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, there are currently no plans to post musicxml or midi files. However, we’ll have a look into it and see how practical it is and how much of a risk it poses. It might not be for all lessons, but we can look into supplying it for the transcriptions.

      • Hi Luke…thank you for the reponse. Alternately, one could (a long as one has a soundslice subscription) just load pdfs into soundslice for conversion to midi of musicxml. Although I find the resultant file is mixed with translations an octive below or above sometimes…..just FYI!

  • Hi, how are you folks?
I would like you to recommend blues artists that use more harmony (chords) in their songs, albums, songs, etc… I love blues and would like to be able to hear examples that go beyond my beloved three chords and variations.

    thanks ! !

    • Hey Blues7, great subject and I imagine an extensive list will be forthcoming. I come from a background on the guitar playing fingerstyle blues so I’ll put forward Rev Gary Davis as a great source to listen to. His pianistic approach to playing uses a lot of chords and extensions mapping the whole fretboard and whilst his repertoire covered not o…Read More

    • You might like Bobby Blue Bland, T Bone Walker, Wayne Bennett, Bill Jennings, Billy Butler, and piano players like Ray Charles, Charles Brown, Johnny Moore and his three blazers, Mose Alison, James Booker , Ray Bryant, Percy Mayfield, just to name a few

      • Thank you Tim, I will listen to each of these, I hope people add other names to this list, the more people I can listen to the better for me, thank you for your time and attention!

  • Hey Everyone,

Two things. The first is that we’ve added the soundslice tutorial to the dashboard page, we’re going to add more tutorials there too once we’ve got more feedback about where people need help and what problems are coming up.

Secondly, thank you for all of the lesson requests, we are taking note of all of them. We have a huge…Read More

    • Hey first sorry I missed the meet and greet. I enjoyed my first pass at the Sunny Side lesson a lot. I’m actually a self taught fingerstyle blues barrell house and somewhat jazzy piano player trying to enhance my fingerstyle guitar playing. I know that sounds funny but I ve got alot of influence from fingerstyle guitarists for some of my piano…Read More

    • Hi Admin, I think I might be missing the obvious here, but I can’t locate the soundslice tutorial. When I select “Dashboard” the original promo page comes up inviting people to sign up. I then have to select “login” to return to the community, and once back in, I am informed that I have already logged in. Any guidance you can give me would be…Read More

      • Hi Marion,
It looks like your browser might need to have its history cleared, it could be saving an old version of the website.

        If you go here:

        Member Dashboard

you should be able to see all the dashboard content, and your browser should update soon to reflect the current site.

        Hope that helps,

        Luke

        • Thanks so much Luke! I can now view the Dashboard and have just watched the Soundslice tutorial, which was very useful. Cheers

  • Just wanted to give a quick update on the Playalong module for Sunny Side. It now includes a transcribed improvisation with a breakdown by Tim after the solo ends.
