Great! I enjoyed your playing! See that you are playing electric guitar with your nails/fingers. That’s something I want to experiment with. But how do you get a soft jazzy tone on your e-guitar? Q: can you really play rock with finger style technique??

Hi Thomas – yes you can rock out with out a pick ( Mark Knoplfer taught us this) – in a more rock setting I often start out with fingers and switch to pick as/if needed. I keep a pick in my palm ( like how a magician hides a coin in the palm and I flip it forward as needed) or I keep a pick wedged between the pick guard and guitar ready to grab…Read More

I studied classical guitar in University and in retrospect we spent WAY too much time obsessing over, talking about, and actually caring for our nails.If you play primarily electric guitar then I would say forget about nails , it’s not worth it.
